Healthy eating lobbyists cause power cuts

April 23, 2010 in Uncategorized

In a move similiar to a US Embassy bombing, a second group has come forward claiming repsonsibility for the power cuts in Wellington City yesterday. Early this morning the Climate Change lobbyists claimed responsibility for the power outage but this has been quickly rebutted by the Healthy Eating lobby group who claim it was their idea.

They claim they are repsonsible for the power cut which saw  a 76% reduction in fastfood purchased during the time the power was down.  The majority of fast food outlets were unable to delivery their food due to all power being lost. Kim Chang, owner of a Wellington Chinese Fastfood shop, was outraged that the lobby group had gone to such depths to deprive his cutomers of their daily fat intake. He announced that he had already been on the phone and a separate generator has been purchased to stop anything like this happeneing again.

Healthy Eating lobby groups within New Zealand are boasting the success of the recent ’4 Hour Crack down’ within the Wellington region. The crack down which happened unexpectedly yesterday afternoon coincided with the DPB pay day, usually the busiest day in the fortnight for the local fast food industry. Wellington was strategically choosen for this test run and in the future power cuts are expected to be rolled out throughout the country in the coming weeks.

The move was merticulasly planned by Health Minister Tony Ryall who dreamed up the idea while holidaying in Nepal. “While on holiday there I lost 5.4kg due to the fact I had nowhere to buy my fast food. I thought if we could do this within New Zealand, this would solve our obesity problems”. Currently New Zealand is the 3rd most obese nation in the Southern Hemipshere for countires whose second name begins with the letter ‘Z’. Even our national rugby team is full of over weight show ponies.

The innovative ‘Healthy Eating Program’ has won praise world wide with United Nations big wig Helen Clark commenting from her swanky New York appartment. “This is a great day for New Zealand. Any time the governement can get involved with the people they represent and tell them what to do with their lives is a great day for democracy.” she said.

The question now being asked is what group will be next to claim responsibility for the power cut? I wonder if the power cut had an affect on the number of whales killed??
